Over 402 benefit from free heart checkup camp

More than 400 people have been treated at a free heart checkup camp organised at Kushma Bazaar, the headquarters of Parbat district.

The heart checkup camp was organised on the occasion of the 30th establishment day of Parbat Hospital and the sixth Parbat Festival.

Altogether 402 people underwent free heart examination at the camp. Among them, 10 have been diagnosed with condition needing surgery while 21 have to have regular heart checkup, senior cardiologist Dr Anil Bhattarai said.

Echo and ECG tests were provided and medicines distributed free of cost to the people on the occasion. Arrangements have also been made for providing special concession to the patients needing to undergo surgery.

Dr Bhattarai provided free check-up services. An organisation called Save the Heart had supported the camp.

People from Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi, Kaski and Syangja districts have benefitted from the heart checkup camp.
