Tokha Municipality (Kathmandu) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Tokha Municipality (Kathmandu district), candidate Prakash Adhikari of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 8,895 (43.58%) votes out of total votes of 20,410 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Harihar Adhikari of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 7,514 (25.64%) of votes. The rest of 12 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 4,001 (9.80) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Gyan Maya Dangol of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 8,098 (39.90%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Rajani Thapa of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 8,036 (28.30%) of votes and came in second position. Other 7 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 4,162 (10.25) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 261 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 167 (63.98%) males and 94 (36.02%) females. Moreover, there were total 69 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 11 wards. Same as, total 93 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 45 females and 31 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
