Thabang Rural Municipality (Rolpa) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Thabang Rural Municipality (Rolpa district), candidate Bir Bahadur Gharti of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,990 (62.84%) votes out of total votes of 3,167 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Amit Gharti Magar of Independent (Ind) who secured 1,057 (20.50%) of votes. The rest of 1 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 120 (1.89) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Ram Kirani Roka Magar of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,969 (64.26%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Shreekumari Roka of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 965 (19.17%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 130 (2.12) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 69 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 40 (57.97%) males and 29 (42.03%) females. Moreover, there were total 15 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 26 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 13 females and 9 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
