Tajakot Rural Municipality (Humla) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Tajakot Rural Municipality (Humla district), candidate Bagdal Chantyal of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,369 (58.53%) votes out of total votes of 2,339 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Purna Prasad Dhakal Jaisi of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 951 (25.65%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 19 (0.41) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Manju Budha of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,291 (58.36%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Surendra Bahadur Thapa of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 903 (25.78%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 18 (0.41) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 58 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 37 (63.79%) males and 21 (36.21%) females. Moreover, there were total 12 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 21 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 10 females and 8 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
