Suwarna Rural Municipality (Bara) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Suwarna Rural Municipality (Bara district), candidate Mohan Prasad Yadav of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 3,065 (30.11%) votes out of total votes of 10,178 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Rajesh Prasad Yadav of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 2,690 (20.31%) of votes. The rest of 11 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 4,423 (21.73) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Babita Yadav of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 3,475 (35.76%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Ramati Devi Yadav of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 1,987 (15.06%) of votes and came in second position. Other 7 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 4,255 (21.89) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 262 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 161 (61.45%) males and 101 (38.55%) females. Moreover, there were total 57 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 8 wards. Same as, total 93 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 48 females and 42 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
