Siraha Municipality (Siraha) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Siraha Municipality (Siraha district), candidate Ashweshwor Prasad Yadav of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 9,234 (30.76%) votes out of total votes of 30,020 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Nabin Kumar Yadav of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 9,063 (23.09%) of votes. The rest of 16 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 11,723 (19.53) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Namita Yadav of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 9,161 (31.13%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Shobha Devi Mandal of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 8,990 (23.29%) of votes and came in second position. Other 8 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 11,281 (19.16) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 549 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 336 (61.20%) males and 213 (38.80%) females. Moreover, there were total 129 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 22 wards. Same as, total 200 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 98 females and 94 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
