There were 35,900 votes casted during 2008 Constituent Assembly elections in Siraha District, Constituency No. 2. The candidte of MPRF - Raj Lal Yadav secured 16,684 (46.47%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Ram Chandra Yadav of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) who secured 8,601 (23.96%) votes and came in second position. The difference in votes of Raj Lal Yadav and Ram Chandra Yadav was 8,083. All other candidates secured 10,615 (29.57%) votes.
