There were 39,559 votes casted during 2008 Constituent Assembly elections in Sindhuli District, Constituency No. 2. The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) - Chandra Prasad Gajurel secured 18,398 (46.51%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Keshav Prasad Devkota of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) who secured 10,760 (27.20%) votes and came in second position.
