Shivasatakshi is a Municipality, which is located in Jhapa district, Province No. 1 of Nepal. Shivasatakshi has total 11 wards, which are scattered across 146 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Shivasatakshi Municipality had total population of 64,596.

As of 2011, 8,476 population in Shivasatakshi Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 13.12 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 7,353, which equals to 24.75 percent of total 29,715 males. Same as, 1,123 females were absent, which equals to 3.22 percent of 34,881 females. At least one member of 6,176 (42.03 percent) households were absent.

In terms of age, the largest population in Shivasatakshi Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 7,594. However, gender wise largest population age group differs from the total population, such as largest male population falls between 10 and 14 with total 3,852 while female population falls between 15 and 19 with total 3,749 population. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 1,182 population, which consistes of 629 males and 553 females. Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 10 and 14 (3,852), between 15 and 19 (3,381), between 5 and 9 (3,318), below 4 (2,672), and between 20 and 24 (2,185), with total population of 15,408. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (629), above 75 (768), between 65 and 69 (803),between 60 and 64 (1,156), and between 55 and 59 (1,207), with total population of 4,563. The population with age-group 70 to 74 had male to female ratio of 1.14, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 25 to 29 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.55. The age-groups 70 to 74, below 4, above 75, 5 to 9, 10 to 14, 65 to 69 had majority of male population while age-groups 60 to 64, 55 to 59, 15 to 19, 50 to 54, 45 to 49, 40 to 44, 35 to 39, 30 to 34, 20 to 24, 25 to 29 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 63.48 % (41,006 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 29.90 % with total number of 19,316. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 6.62 % with total number of 4,274. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 36.52 with total number of 23,590

There were 19,284 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 5,214. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 270 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 23,640 in Shivasatakshi Municipality with 11,648 (49.27%) of males and 11,992 (50.73%) females. There were total 61 schools. In average, 388 students were studying in each school.

Top five castes of people in Shivasatakshi Municipality are Brahmin - Hill (14,802), Chhetri (10,967), Limbu (9,799), Rajbansi (3,643) and Tajpuriya (3,590) with total population of 42,801, which forms 66.26 percent out of total population of 64,596 in Shivasatakshi Municipality.

Out of total population of 64,596, there were total 1,231 (1.91%) disabled persons in Shivasatakshi Municipality with 665 (54.02%) males and 566 (45.98%) females. The physically disabled persons were 408, while mentally disabled people were 121 and intellectually disabled were 39.

Similarly, there were 174 people who were blind and 174 people were deaf, while 7 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 156 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 152 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 14695 households in Shivasatakshi Municipality, there were 658 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 1,885 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 1,209 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 10,152houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 474 houses were mud bonded, 2,890 houses were cement bonded, 2,561 houses were wood planks bonded, 8,349 houses were bamboo bonded and 23 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 1,613 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 11,966 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 86 houses had roof of tile, 823 houses had RCC roofs, 69 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 3,641 out of 14,695 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 5,280 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 5,710 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Shivasatakshi Municipality, there were total 362 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 14,035 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 32 houses had covered well while 23 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (11) and river stream (3), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 10,632 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 113 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 1,659 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (970), bio-gas (1,223), fuel electricity (5), etc.

Same as, total 12,591 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 1,889, while 38 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.86.

out of 14,695 households in Shivasatakshi Municipality, 991 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 13,631 households reported of using at least one facility. According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 2,214 establishments in Shivasatakshi Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 5,561 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 3,112 and female engagement of 2,449 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.51 people engaged with average males are 1.41 and females are 1.11. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.27, which means as many as 1.27 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
