In 2017 election of Sanni Triveni Rural Municipality (Kalikot district), candidate Dambar Bahadur Shahi of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,731 (38.13%) votes out of total votes of 4,540 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Gorakh Bahadur Khatri of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 1,255 (20.01%) of votes. The rest of 6 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1,554 (17.11) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Hoeja Kumari Budha of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,549 (35.59%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Parbati Singh of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 1,350 (22.88%) of votes and came in second position. Other 5 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,453 (16.69) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 198 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 121 (61.11%) males and 77 (38.89%) females. Moreover, there were total 41 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 9 wards. Same as, total 73 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 35 females and 34 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
