In 2017 election of Sani Bheri Rural Municipality (Rukum_W district), candidate Nar Bahadur Pun of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 4,650 (59.44%) votes out of total votes of 7,823 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Gorakh Prasad Giri of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 2,617 (20.98%) of votes. The rest of 1 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 556 (3.55) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Indira Oli of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 4,661 (59.28%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Pushpa Oli of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,603 (20.78%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 599 (3.81) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 149 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 91 (61.07%) males and 58 (38.93%) females. Moreover, there were total 30 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 11 wards. Same as, total 59 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 29 females and 25 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
