Sakhuwa Prasauni Rural Municipality (Parsa) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Sakhuwa Prasauni Rural Municipality (Parsa district), candidate Pradeep Kumar Jaiswal of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 3,682 (33.23%) votes out of total votes of 11,082 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Nir Raj Giri of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 2,614 (17.71%) of votes. The rest of 9 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 4,786 (21.59) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Phulmati Kumari Tharuni of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 3,667 (36.80%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Kedar Kumari Bishwokarma of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,851 (20.91%) of votes and came in second position. Other 8 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 3,447 (17.30) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 239 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 145 (60.67%) males and 94 (39.33%) females. Moreover, there were total 51 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 6 wards. Same as, total 87 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 41 females and 39 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
