In 2017 election of Runtigadhi Rural Municipality (Rolpa district), candidate Bala Ram Budha of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,402 (34.05%) votes out of total votes of 9,992 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Tek Bahadur Basnet of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 3,279 (24.48%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 3,311 (16.57) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Chamaya Pun of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,452 (34.57%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Sarita K.c of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,379 (25.15%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 3,154 (15.79) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 164 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 99 (60.37%) males and 65 (39.63%) females. Moreover, there were total 33 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 9 wards. Same as, total 61 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 30 females and 31 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
