In 2017 election of Roshi Rural Municipality (Kavrepalanchok district), candidate Dal Bahadur Lama of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 4,372 (42.23%) votes out of total votes of 10,353 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Bajra Dhwoj Lama of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 2,957 (20.08%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 3,024 (14.60) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Laxmi Kumari Upreti (bartola) of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,898 (43.06%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Babita Bohara (chhetri) of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,933 (22.65%) of votes and came in second position. Other 4 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 2,222 (12.27) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 261 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 161 (61.69%) males and 100 (38.31%) females. Moreover, there were total 56 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 12 wards. Same as, total 102 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 50 females and 41 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
