Raskot is a Municipality, which is located in Kalikot district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Raskot has total 9 wards, which are scattered across 60 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Raskot Municipality had total population of 16,272.

As of 2011, 317 population in Raskot Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 1.95 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 267, which equals to 3.31 percent of total 8,076 males. Same as, 50 females were absent, which equals to 0.61 percent of 8,196 females. At least one member of 220 (8.19 percent) households were absent.

In terms of age, the largest population in Raskot Municipality were below 4 years of age with total 2,564. However, gender wise largest population age group differs from the total population, such as largest male population falls below 4 with total 1,348 while female population falls between 5 and 9 with total 1,258 population. The least populated age group was above 75 with total 136 population, which consistes of 64 males and 72 females. Top 5 most populated age groups were below 4 (2,564), between 5 and 9 (2,514), between 10 and 14 (2,153), between 15 and 19 (1,645), between 20 and 24 (1,235) with total population of 10,111. In contrast, bottom 5 least populated age groups were above 75 (136), between 70 and 74 (176), between 65 and 69 (294), between 55 and 59 (388), and between 50 and 54 (482) with total population of 1,476. The median age-group of total population falls between 35 and 39 and between 40 and 44 with average population of 761.

Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were below 4 (1,348), between 5 and 9 (1,256), between 10 and 14 (1,065), between 15 and 19 (795), and between 20 and 24 (583), with total population of 5,047. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (64), between 70 and 74 (91), between 65 and 69 (140),between 55 and 59 (204), and between 60 and 64 (231), with total population of 730. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 5 and 9 (1,258), below 4 (1,216), between 10 and 14 (1,088), between 15 and 19 (850), and between 20 and 24 (652), with total population of 5,064. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (72), between 70 and 74 (85), between 65 and 69 (154),between 55 and 59 (184), and between 50 and 54 (229), with total population of 724.

The population with age-group 45 to 49 had male to female ratio of 1.25, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 60 to 64 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.72. The age-groups 45 to 49, below 4, 55 to 59, 50 to 54, 70 to 74 had majority of male population while age-groups 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 10 to 14, 15 to 19, 40 to 44, 65 to 69, 20 to 24, above 75, 25 to 29, 60 to 64 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups 5 to 9 had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 51.84 % (8,435 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 44.44 % with total number of 7,231. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 3.72 % with total number of 606. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 48.16 with total number of 7,837

There were 3,591 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 2,564. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 714 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 6,129 in Raskot Municipality with 3,061 (49.94%) of males and 3,068 (50.06%) females. There were total 27 schools. In average, 227 students were studying in each school.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Raskot Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Brahmin - Hill caste with total population of 3,818. There were as little as Newar caste with population of as little as 11 in total. People of several other castes who live in Raskot are Kami, Thakuri, Chhetri, Sarki, Damai/Dholi, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Kumal, Teli, Newar, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Raskot Municipality are Brahmin - Hill (3,818), Kami (3,580), Thakuri (3,330), Chhetri (2,681) and Sarki (1,135) with total population of 14,544, which forms 89.38 percent out of total population of 16,272 in Raskot Municipality.

Out of total population of 16,272, there were total 776 (4.77%) disabled persons in Raskot Municipality with 416 (53.61%) males and 360 (46.39%) females. The physically disabled persons were 359, while mentally disabled people were 28 and intellectually disabled were 20.

Similarly, there were 145 people who were blind and 140 people were deaf, while 6 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 43 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 35 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 2685 households in Raskot Municipality, there were 2,662 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 1 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 0 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 0houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 2,532 houses were mud bonded, 15 houses were cement bonded, 6 houses were wood planks bonded, 0 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 893 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 55 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 670 houses had roof of tile, 4 houses had RCC roofs, 0 houses had roof of woods while 984 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 1,698 out of 2,685 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 224 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 748 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Raskot Municipality, there were total 1,367 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 0 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 4 houses had covered well while 11 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (1272) and river stream (0), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 2,660 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 0 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 0 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (1), bio-gas (3), fuel electricity (5), etc.

Same as, total 823 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 12, while 423 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.31.

out of 2,685 households in Raskot Municipality, 1,091 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 1,545 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Radio was used by the maximum households with total users of 1,286, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 891.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 413 establishments in Raskot Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 968 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 639 and female engagement of 329 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.34 people engaged with average males are 1.55 and females are 0.80. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.94, which means as many as 1.94 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
