Ramnagar is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Sarlahi district, Province No. 2 of Nepal. Ramnagar has total 7 wards, which are scattered across 26 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Ramnagar Rural Municipality had total population of 28.

Wardwise Population and Households

As per 2011 population census, Ramnagar Rural Municipality had total 28,727 population with 14,922 males and 13,805 females. Out of total wards, ward number 1 had the largest population 7,049, while ward number 5 had least number of population with 7,049.

In terms of age, the largest population in Ramnagar Rural Municipality were between 5 and 9 years of age with total 4,280. Gender wise, there were 2,163 males and 2,117 females of the same age group. Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 5 and 9 (2,163), between 10 and 14 (1,995), below 4 (1,759), between 15 and 19 (1,443), and between 20 and 24 (1,104), with total population of 8,464. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (192), between 70 and 74 (274), between 60 and 64 (359),between 65 and 69 (361), and between 55 and 59 (408), with total population of 1,594. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 5 and 9 (2,117), below 4 (1,769), between 10 and 14 (1,723), between 20 and 24 (1,103), and between 15 and 19 (1,075), with total population of 7,787. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (182), between 70 and 74 (255), between 65 and 69 (304),between 60 and 64 (384), and between 50 and 54 (387), with total population of 1,512.

The population with age-group 15 to 19 had male to female ratio of 1.34, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 60 to 64 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.93. The age-groups 15 to 19, 45 to 49, 65 to 69, 40 to 44, 10 to 14, 50 to 54, 35 to 39, 70 to 74, above 75, 25 to 29, 55 to 59, 5 to 9 had majority of male population while age-groups below 4, 30 to 34, 60 to 64 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups 20 to 24 had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 41,164.29 % with total number of 11,526. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 5,600.00 % with total number of 1,568. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 46,764.29 with total number of 13,094

There were 6,286 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 3,528. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 561 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

Grade 1-12 Students & Schools

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 7,223 in Ramnagar Rural Municipality with 3,480 (48.18%) of males and 3,743 (51.82%) females. There were total 18 schools. In average, 401 students were studying in each school.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Ramnagar Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Yadav caste with total population of 8,051. There were as little as Rajput caste with population of as little as 13 in total. People of several other castes who live in Ramnagar are Mallaha, Teli, Brahmin - Tarai, Tatma/Tatwa, Chamar/Harijan/Ram, Kathbaniyan, Muslim, Kurmi, Dusadh/Pasawan/Pasi, Dhobi, Lohar, Kanu, Kalwar, Brahmin - Hill, Hajam/Thakur, Koiri/Kushwaha, Kumhar, Kayastha, Dhanuk, Kewat, Kahar, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Marwadi, Dom, Nuniya, Tharu, Halkhor, Sonar, Mali, Baraee, Gharti/Bhujel, Sudhi, Terai Others, Rajput, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Ramnagar Rural Municipality are Yadav (8,051), Mallaha (2,704), Teli (1,994), Brahmin - Tarai (1,901) and Tatma/Tatwa (1,703) with total population of 16,353, which forms 58,403.57 percent out of total population of 28 in Ramnagar Rural Municipality.

Out of total population of 28,727, there were total 291 (1.01%) disabled persons in Ramnagar Rural Municipality with 180 (61.86%) males and 111 (38.14%) females. The physically disabled persons were 126, while mentally disabled people were 14 and intellectually disabled were 4.

Household Foundation

Out of total 4485 households in Ramnagar Rural Municipality, there were 132 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 711 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 129 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 3,452houses were founded on wood.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 909 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 11 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 3,210 houses had roof of tile, 235 houses had RCC roofs, 65 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 3,896 out of 4,485 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 201 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 348 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

Utilities

In Ramnagar Rural Municipality, there were total 161 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 4,225 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 3 houses had covered well while 21 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. With reference to source of fuel, 1,731 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 136 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 15 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (2,524), bio-gas (4), fuel electricity (0), etc.

Same as, total 427 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 3,990, while 20 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.10.

Facilities

out of 4,485 households in Ramnagar Rural Municipality, 886 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 3,450 households reported of using at least one facility.
