There were 47,821 votes casted during 2008 Constituent Assembly elections in Ramechhap District, Constituency No. 2. The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) - Dilliman Tamang secured 31,121 (65.08%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Kailash Prasad Dhunge of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) who secured 7,010 (14.66%) votes and came in second position. The difference in votes of Dilliman Tamang and Kailash Prasad Dhunge was 24,111. All other candidates secured 9,690 (20.26%) votes.
