Prasauni Rural Municipality (Bara) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Prasauni Rural Municipality (Bara district), candidate Bhola Prasad Gupta of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 2,438 (26.04%) votes out of total votes of 9,362 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Binod Prasad Jaiswal of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) who secured 2,113 (17.91%) of votes. The rest of 10 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 4,811 (25.69) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Geeta Shah of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 2,582 (27.93%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Pinki Kumari Shah of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 2,022 (17.10%) of votes and came in second position. Other 4 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 4,640 (25.10) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 224 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 140 (62.50%) males and 84 (37.50%) females. Moreover, there were total 46 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 82 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 43 females and 35 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
