Phedikhola is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Syangja district, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Phedikhola has total 5 wards, which are scattered across 57 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Phedikhola Rural Municipality had total population of 12,341.

As of 2011, 1,962 population in Phedikhola Rural Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 15.90 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 1,852, which equals to 35.22 percent of total 5,259 males. Same as, 110 females were absent, which equals to 1.55 percent of 7,082 females. At least one member of 1,515 (46.56 percent) households were absent.

Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 10 and 14 (715), between 15 and 19 (713), between 5 and 9 (627), below 4 (504), and between 20 and 24 (353), with total population of 2,912. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (165), between 35 and 39 (171), between 65 and 69 (193),between 30 and 34 (208), and between 40 and 44 (208), with total population of 945. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 15 and 19 (787), between 10 and 14 (764), between 20 and 24 (617), between 5 and 9 (596), and between 25 and 29 (564), with total population of 3,328. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (165), above 75 (210), between 65 and 69 (249),between 60 and 64 (272), and between 55 and 59 (329), with total population of 1,225.

The population with age-group below 4 had male to female ratio of 1.12, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 35 to 39 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.38. The age-groups below 4, 5 to 9 had majority of male population while age-groups 10 to 14, 15 to 19, 60 to 64, 55 to 59, 65 to 69, 50 to 54, 45 to 49, 20 to 24, 40 to 44, 30 to 34, 25 to 29, 35 to 39 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups 70 to 74, above 75 had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 39.28 with total number of 4,848

There were 3,673 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 955. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 260 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 10,017 in Phedikhola Rural Municipality with 4,864 (48.56%) of males and 5,153 (51.44%) females. There were total 37 schools. In average, 271 students were studying in each school.

There were as little as Muslim caste with population of as little as 11 in total. People of several other castes who live in Phedikhola are Brahmin - Hill, Gurung, Kami, Sarki, Damai/Dholi, Gharti/Bhujel, Newar, Magar, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Thakuri, Terai Others, Muslim, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Phedikhola Rural Municipality are Chhetri (3,811), Brahmin - Hill (3,071), Gurung (1,971), Kami (1,567) and Sarki (795) with total population of 11,215, which forms 90.88 percent out of total population of 12,341 in Phedikhola Rural Municipality.

Out of total population of 12,341, there were total 272 (2.20%) disabled persons in Phedikhola Rural Municipality with 154 (56.62%) males and 118 (43.38%) females. The physically disabled persons were 100, while mentally disabled people were 16 and intellectually disabled were 14.

Similarly, there were 41 people who were blind and 55 people were deaf, while 3 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 22 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 21 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 3254 households in Phedikhola Rural Municipality, there were 2,762 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 192 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 281 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 7houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 2,544 houses were mud bonded, 685 houses were cement bonded, 3 houses were wood planks bonded, 8 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 155 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 2,323 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 378 houses had roof of tile, 382 houses had RCC roofs, 1 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 342 out of 3,254 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 2,411 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 498 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Phedikhola Rural Municipality, there were total 2,919 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 1 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 77 houses had covered well while 230 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (10) and river stream (12), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 2,839 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 5 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 370 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (1), bio-gas (34), fuel electricity (0), etc.

Same as, total 3,083 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 148, while 2 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.95.

out of 3,254 households in Phedikhola Rural Municipality, 267 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,952 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.MobilePhone was used by the maximum households with total users of 2,669, while Radio was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 1,932.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 238 establishments in Phedikhola Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 772 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 380 and female engagement of 392 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.24 people engaged with average males are 1.60 and females are 1.65. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 0.97, which means as many as 0.97 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
