In 2017 election of Phedikhola Rural Municipality (Syangja district), candidate Ghanshyam Subedi of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,806 (62.86%) votes out of total votes of 6,055 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Tara Pati Subedi of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 1,760 (17.85%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 489 (4.04) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Devi Thapa of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,428 (57.60%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Maya Devi Paneru of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 1,806 (19.26%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 717 (6.02) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 103 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 61 (59.22%) males and 42 (40.78%) females. Moreover, there were total 23 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 37 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 18 females and 14 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
