There were 37,440 votes casted during 2008 Constituent Assembly elections in Panchthar District, Constituency No. 2. The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) - Damber Singh Sambahamphe secured 12,402 (33.13%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Bhisma Raj Aangdambe of Nepali Congress Party who secured 11,604 (30.99%) votes and came in second position. The difference in votes of Damber Singh Sambahamphe and Bhisma Raj Aangdambe was 798. All other candidates secured 13,434 (35.88%) votes.
