In 2017 election of Nisdi Rural Municipality (Palpa district), candidate Mukta Bahadur Saru of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 5,320 (63.95%) votes out of total votes of 8,319 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Shalik Ram Pandey of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 2,923 (21.43%) of votes.
