Narainapur is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Banke district, Province No. 5 of Nepal. Narainapur has total 6 wards, which are scattered across 172 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Narainapur Rural Municipality had total population of 34,942.

As of 2011, 806 population in Narainapur Rural Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 2.31 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 777, which equals to 4.32 percent of total 17,978 males. Same as, 29 females were absent, which equals to 0.17 percent of 16,964 females. The population with age-group 50 to 54 had male to female ratio of 1.34, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 65 to 69 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.88. The age-groups 50 to 54, 60 to 64, 70 to 74, above 75, 10 to 14, 15 to 19, 45 to 49, 25 to 29, 40 to 44, 5 to 9, below 4, 35 to 39 had majority of male population while age-groups 55 to 59, 30 to 34, 20 to 24, 65 to 69 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

Top five castes of people in Narainapur Rural Municipality are Muslim (15,777), Yadav (5,595), Chamar/Harijan/Ram (1,303), Dusadh/Pasawan/Pasi (1,166) and Koiri/Kushwaha (1,157) with total population of 24,998, which forms 71.54 percent out of total population of 34,942 in Narainapur Rural Municipality.

Out of total population of 34,942, there were total 497 (1.42%) disabled persons in Narainapur Rural Municipality with 306 (61.57%) males and 191 (38.43%) females. The physically disabled persons were 188, while mentally disabled people were 39 and intellectually disabled were 17.

Out of total 5908 households in Narainapur Rural Municipality, there were 1,810 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 774 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 17 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 3,221houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 1,494 houses were mud bonded, 1,064 houses were cement bonded, 1,187 houses were wood planks bonded, 1,762 houses were bamboo bonded and 156 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 3,529 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 53 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 312 houses had roof of tile, 1,912 houses had RCC roofs, 52 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 5,594 out of 5,908 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 145 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 130 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Narainapur Rural Municipality, there were total 414 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 5,064 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 38 houses had covered well while 166 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (4) and river stream (2), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 5,751 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 85 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 5 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (21), bio-gas (4), fuel electricity (0), etc.

Same as, total 35 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 4,263, while 632 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.01.

out of 5,908 households in Narainapur Rural Municipality, 1,702 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 4,016 households reported of using at least one facility. According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 631 establishments in Narainapur Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,444 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,146 and female engagement of 298 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.29 people engaged with average males are 1.82 and females are 0.47. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 3.85, which means as many as 3.85 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
