There were 42,855 votes casted during 2008 Constituent Assembly elections in Morang District, Constituency No. 7. The candidte of MPRF - Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar secured 18,416 (42.97%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Shekhar Koirala of Nepali Congress Party who secured 13,261 (30.94%) votes and came in second position.
