Manra Shiswa Municipality (Mahottari) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Manra Shiswa Municipality (Mahottari district), candidate Sanjaya Kumar Singh of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 4,239 (30.46%) votes out of total votes of 13,915 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Mahendra Raya of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) who secured 3,261 (17.96%) of votes. The rest of 11 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 6,415 (23.05) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Ramita Pradhan of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 4,053 (30.18%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Hajara Khatun of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 2,889 (16.52%) of votes and came in second position. Other 7 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 6,489 (24.16) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 345 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 216 (62.61%) males and 129 (37.39%) females. Moreover, there were total 81 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 10 wards. Same as, total 124 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 63 females and 55 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
