Mandandeupur Municipality (Kavrepalanchok) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Mandandeupur Municipality (Kavrepalanchok district), candidate Tok Bahadur Tamang of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 7,646 (45.08%) votes out of total votes of 16,960 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Achyut Prasad Paudel of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 6,319 (25.68%) of votes. The rest of 7 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 2,995 (8.83) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Nirmala Shahi of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 7,501 (44.53%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Radhika Dhakal of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 6,160 (25.30%) of votes and came in second position. Other 4 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 3,183 (9.45) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 228 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 145 (63.60%) males and 83 (36.40%) females. Moreover, there were total 53 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 12 wards. Same as, total 84 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 42 females and 34 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
