Madhav Narayan Municipality (Rautahat) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Madhav Narayan Municipality (Rautahat district), candidate Birendra Prasad Yadav of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 3,348 (25.26%) votes out of total votes of 13,252 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Lila Prasad Teli of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) who secured 2,852 (17.18%) of votes. The rest of 17 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 7,052 (26.61) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Simal Kumari Shah of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 2,924 (22.75%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Balkumari Devi Kalwar of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 2,724 (17.26%) of votes and came in second position. Other 10 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 7,206 (28.03) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 299 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 193 (64.55%) males and 106 (35.45%) females. Moreover, there were total 69 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 9 wards. Same as, total 108 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 46 females and 45 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
