Khajura Rural Municipality (Banke) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Khajura Rural Municipality (Banke district), candidate Kismat Kumar Kachhapati of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 8,070 (39.02%) votes out of total votes of 20,682 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Dambar Bahadur B.k of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) who secured 6,892 (23.97%) of votes. The rest of 6 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 5,720 (13.83) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Ekmaya B.k of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 8,214 (39.58%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Firoj Bano Khan of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 6,433 (22.21%) of votes and came in second position. Other 7 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 6,104 (14.71) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 192 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 112 (58.33%) males and 80 (41.67%) females. Moreover, there were total 38 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 8 wards. Same as, total 67 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 35 females and 35 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
