There were 36,212 votes casted during 2008 Constituent Assembly elections in Kaski District, Constituency No. 2. The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) - Raj Kaji Gurung secured 14,832 (40.96%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Sarada Devi Paudel of Nepali Congress Party who secured 10,743 (29.67%) votes and came in second position. The difference in votes of Raj Kaji Gurung and Sarada Devi Paudel was 4,089. All other candidates secured 10,637 (29.37%) votes.
