There were 35,952 votes casted during 1994 House of Representatives elections in Kapilvastu District, Constituency No. 1. The candidte of Nepali Congress Party - Kamalesh Ku. Upadhyaya secured 11,558 (32.15%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Tika Ram Aryal of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) who secured 7,370 (20.50%) votes and came in second position. The difference in votes of Kamalesh Ku.
