In 2017 election of Junichaande Rural Municipality (Jajarkot district), candidate Krishna Bahadur K.c of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 2,770 (39.62%) votes out of total votes of 6,992 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Bed Bahadur Shahi of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 2,274 (23.29%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1,948 (13.93) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Shiva Acharya Basnet of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 2,778 (39.63%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Amba Kumari Shah of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,266 (23.15%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,966 (14.02) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 181 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 111 (61.33%) males and 70 (38.67%) females. Moreover, there were total 39 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 11 wards. Same as, total 70 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 34 females and 30 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
