There were 39,977 votes casted during 2008 Constituent Assembly elections in Jumla District, Constituency No. 1. The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) - Naresh Bhandari secured 21,127 (52.85%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Din Bandhu Shrestha of Nepali Congress Party who secured 9,210 (23.04%) votes and came in second position. The difference in votes of Naresh Bhandari and Din Bandhu Shrestha was 11,917. All other candidates secured 9,640 (24.11%) votes.
