Jorayal is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Doti district, Sudurpashchim Province of Nepal. Jorayal has total 6 wards, which are scattered across 419 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Jorayal Rural Municipality had total population of 20,824.

As of 2011, 769 population in Jorayal Rural Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 3.69 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 673, which equals to 6.63 percent of total 10,156 males. Same as, 96 females were absent, which equals to 0.90 percent of 10,668 females. At least one member of 534 (14.02 percent) households were absent.

Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 10 and 14 (1,517), between 5 and 9 (1,442), below 4 (1,262), between 15 and 19 (1,084), and between 20 and 24 (741), with total population of 6,046. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (109), above 75 (128), between 65 and 69 (185),between 60 and 64 (238), and between 55 and 59 (313), with total population of 973. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 10 and 14 (1,500), between 5 and 9 (1,422), between 15 and 19 (1,237), below 4 (1,210), and between 20 and 24 (1,008), with total population of 6,377. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (137), above 75 (146), between 65 and 69 (209),between 60 and 64 (260), and between 55 and 59 (295), with total population of 1,047.

The population with age-group 45 to 49 had male to female ratio of 1.19, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 20 to 24 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.74. The age-groups 45 to 49, 55 to 59, below 4, 50 to 54, 5 to 9, 10 to 14 had majority of male population while age-groups 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, 15 to 19, 25 to 29, 40 to 44, above 75, 70 to 74, 20 to 24 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 55.50 % (11,557 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 40.11 % with total number of 8,353. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 4.39 % with total number of 914. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 44.50 with total number of 9,267

There were 5,140 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 2,472. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 481 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 6,475 in Jorayal Rural Municipality with 3,154 (48.71%) of males and 3,321 (51.29%) females. There were total 60 schools. In average, 108 students were studying in each school.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Jorayal Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Chhetri caste with total population of 11,927. There were as little as Lohar caste with population of as little as 12 in total. People of several other castes who live in Jorayal are Magar, Kami, Brahmin - Hill, Sarki, Thakuri, Damai/Dholi, Badi, Newar, Bhote, Dalit Others, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Gurung, Tamang, Rai, Limbu, Dura, Lohar, Terai Others, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Jorayal Rural Municipality are Chhetri (11,927), Magar (2,639), Kami (2,130), Brahmin - Hill (1,744) and Sarki (861) with total population of 19,301, which forms 92.69 percent out of total population of 20,824 in Jorayal Rural Municipality.

Out of total population of 20,824, there were total 772 (3.71%) disabled persons in Jorayal Rural Municipality with 406 (52.59%) males and 366 (47.41%) females. The physically disabled persons were 281, while mentally disabled people were 29 and intellectually disabled were 6.

Similarly, there were 184 people who were blind and 125 people were deaf, while 21 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 72 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 54 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 3808 households in Jorayal Rural Municipality, there were 3,322 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 74 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 2 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 391houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 3,198 houses were mud bonded, 192 houses were cement bonded, 382 houses were wood planks bonded, 14 houses were bamboo bonded and 1 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 1,426 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 1,011 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 1,294 houses had roof of tile, 36 houses had RCC roofs, 4 houses had roof of woods while 3 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 1,674 out of 3,808 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 1,391 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 735 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Jorayal Rural Municipality, there were total 2,563 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 4 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 51 houses had covered well while 318 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (395) and river stream (367), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 3,745 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 6 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 31 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (10), bio-gas (6), fuel electricity (0), etc.

Same as, total 744 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 279, while 1,105 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.20.

out of 3,808 households in Jorayal Rural Municipality, 693 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 3,047 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Radio was used by the maximum households with total users of 2,736, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 1,554.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 425 establishments in Jorayal Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 959 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 650 and female engagement of 309 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.26 people engaged with average males are 1.53 and females are 0.73. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 2.10, which means as many as 2.10 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
