Indrasarowar is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Makwanpur district, Province No. 3 of Nepal. Indrasarowar has total 5 wards, which are scattered across 97 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Indrasarowar Rural Municipality had total population of 17,585.

As of 2011, 558 population in Indrasarowar Rural Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 3.17 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 452, which equals to 6.94 percent of total 6,509 males. Same as, 106 females were absent, which equals to 1.45 percent of 7,300 females. At least one member of 467 (15.29 percent) households were absent.

With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 15 and 19 (912), between 10 and 14 (912), between 5 and 9 (772), between 20 and 24 (687), and below 4 (579), with total population of 3,862. The population with age-group above 75 had male to female ratio of 1.20, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 20 to 24 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.77. The age-groups above 75, 55 to 59 had majority of male population while age-groups below 4, 70 to 74, 60 to 64, 5 to 9, 30 to 34, 45 to 49, 65 to 69, 50 to 54, 25 to 29, 15 to 19, 40 to 44, 35 to 39, 20 to 24 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups 10 to 14 had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 10,001 in Indrasarowar Rural Municipality with 4,927 (49.27%) of males and 5,074 (50.73%) females. There were total 30 schools. In average, 333 students were studying in each school.

There were as little as Tharu caste with population of as little as 17 in total. People of several other castes who live in Indrasarowar are Newar, Chhetri, Magar, Brahmin - Hill, Hajam/Thakur, Kami, Damai/Dholi, Thakuri, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Gurung, Tharu, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Indrasarowar Rural Municipality are Tamang (9,957), Newar (1,178), Chhetri (1,062), Magar (908) and Brahmin - Hill (223) with total population of 13,328, which forms 75.79 percent out of total population of 17,585 in Indrasarowar Rural Municipality.

Out of total population of 13,809, there were total 319 (2.31%) disabled persons in Indrasarowar Rural Municipality with 190 (59.56%) males and 129 (40.44%) females. The physically disabled persons were 104, while mentally disabled people were 17 and intellectually disabled were 13.

Out of total 3054 households in Indrasarowar Rural Municipality, there were 2,975 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 51 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 4 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 14houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 2,916 houses were mud bonded, 110 houses were cement bonded, 14 houses were wood planks bonded, 2 houses were bamboo bonded and 2 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 463 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 2,121 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 427 houses had roof of tile, 32 houses had RCC roofs, 0 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 967 out of 3,054 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 1,783 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 296 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Indrasarowar Rural Municipality, there were total 2,405 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 2 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 53 houses had covered well while 307 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (178) and river stream (41), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 2,957 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 15 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 67 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (3), bio-gas (1), fuel electricity (1), etc.

Same as, total 2,673 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 366, while 1 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.88.

out of 3,054 households in Indrasarowar Rural Municipality, 677 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,362 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Radio was used by the maximum households with total users of 1,747, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 1,670.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 466 establishments in Indrasarowar Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,066 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 613 and female engagement of 453 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.29 people engaged with average males are 1.32 and females are 0.97. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.35, which means as many as 1.35 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
