Hanumannagar Kankalini is a Municipality, which is located in Saptari district, Province No. 2 of Nepal. Hanumannagar Kankalini has total 14 wards, which are scattered across 118 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality had total population of 45,734.

Wardwise Population and Households

As per 2011 population census, Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality had total 45,734 population with 22,725 males and 23,009 females. Out of total wards, ward number 1 had the largest population 7,124, while ward number 2 had least number of population with 7,124.

With respect to number of households, Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality had total 8,152 households. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (270), between 70 and 74 (338), between 65 and 69 (464),between 60 and 64 (625), and between 55 and 59 (822), with total population of 2,519. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 5 and 9 (3,127), between 10 and 14 (2,984), below 4 (2,482), between 15 and 19 (2,112), and between 25 and 29 (1,826), with total population of 12,531. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (252), between 70 and 74 (319), between 65 and 69 (470),between 60 and 64 (634), and between 55 and 59 (716), with total population of 2,391.

The population with age-group 55 to 59 had male to female ratio of 1.15, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 20 to 24 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.83. The age-groups 55 to 59, 40 to 44, 50 to 54, 5 to 9, 45 to 49, above 75, 70 to 74, below 4, 15 to 19 had majority of male population while age-groups 60 to 64, 65 to 69, 10 to 14, 35 to 39, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 20 to 24 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 4.62 % with total number of 2,113. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 456 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

Grade 1-12 Students & Schools

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 2,031 in Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality with 976 (48.06%) of males and 1,055 (51.94%) females. There were total 35 schools. In average, 58 students were studying in each school.

Out of total 8152 households in Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality, there were 804 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 1,122 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 233 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 5,368houses were founded on wood.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 5,147 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 2,081 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 121 houses had roof of tile, 480 houses had RCC roofs, 163 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 6,726 out of 8,152 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 740 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 581 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

Utilities

In Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality, there were total 42 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 7,909 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 11 houses had covered well while 32 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. With reference to source of fuel, 2,055 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 178 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 155 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (5,629), bio-gas (17), fuel electricity (1), etc.

Same as, total 3,643 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 4,312, while 72 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.45.

Facilities

out of 8,152 households in Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality, 1,900 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 5,931 households reported of using at least one facility.
