Gulmi Darbar is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Gulmi district, Province No. 5 of Nepal. Gulmi Darbar has total 7 wards, which are scattered across 80 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Gulmi Darbar Rural Municipality had total population of 22,037.

As of 2011, 5,516 population in Gulmi Darbar Rural Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 25.03 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 4,857, which equals to 53.23 percent of total 9,124 males. Same as, 659 females were absent, which equals to 5.10 percent of 12,913 females. At least one member of 3,279 (62.27 percent) households were absent.

Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 10 and 14 (1,526), between 5 and 9 (1,345), below 4 (1,171), between 15 and 19 (1,033), and between 20 and 24 (455), with total population of 5,530. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (234), between 35 and 39 (266), between 65 and 69 (279),above 75 (304), and between 30 and 34 (312), with total population of 1,395. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 10 and 14 (1,601), between 15 and 19 (1,503), between 5 and 9 (1,320), between 20 and 24 (1,200), and below 4 (963), with total population of 6,587. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (222), above 75 (301), between 65 and 69 (328),between 60 and 64 (509), and between 55 and 59 (511), with total population of 1,871.

The population with age-group below 4 had male to female ratio of 1.22, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 35 to 39 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.35. The age-groups below 4, 70 to 74, 5 to 9, above 75 had majority of male population while age-groups 10 to 14, 65 to 69, 60 to 64, 15 to 19, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 45 to 49, 40 to 44, 30 to 34, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 35 to 39 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 326 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 6,043 in Gulmi Darbar Rural Municipality with 2,987 (49.43%) of males and 3,056 (50.57%) females. There were total 36 schools. In average, 168 students were studying in each school.

There were as little as Badi caste with population of as little as 15 in total. People of several other castes who live in Gulmi Darbar are Chhetri, Brahmin - Hill, Kami, Newar, Damai/Dholi, Sarki, Kumal, Bote, Thakuri, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Muslim, Terai Others, Sonar, Gurung, Badi, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Gulmi Darbar Rural Municipality are Magar (8,329), Chhetri (6,201), Brahmin - Hill (3,423), Kami (1,768) and Newar (580) with total population of 20,301, which forms 92.12 percent out of total population of 22,037 in Gulmi Darbar Rural Municipality.

Out of total population of 22,037, there were total 610 (2.77%) disabled persons in Gulmi Darbar Rural Municipality with 364 (59.67%) males and 246 (40.33%) females. The physically disabled persons were 214, while mentally disabled people were 54 and intellectually disabled were 28.

Similarly, there were 84 people who were blind and 88 people were deaf, while 15 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 64 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 63 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 5266 households in Gulmi Darbar Rural Municipality, there were 4,978 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 162 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 55 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 58houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 4,894 houses were mud bonded, 295 houses were cement bonded, 5 houses were wood planks bonded, 60 houses were bamboo bonded and 1 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 928 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 2,585 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 1,620 houses had roof of tile, 124 houses had RCC roofs, 1 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 975 out of 5,266 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 2,450 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 1,837 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Gulmi Darbar Rural Municipality, there were total 4,923 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 1 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 53 houses had covered well while 122 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (144) and river stream (16), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 5,080 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 3 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 134 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (0), bio-gas (43), fuel electricity (0), etc.

Same as, total 4,782 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 460, while 2 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.91.

out of 5,266 households in Gulmi Darbar Rural Municipality, 402 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 4,721 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.MobilePhone was used by the maximum households with total users of 4,159, while Radio was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 3,678.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 640 establishments in Gulmi Darbar Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,460 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 806 and female engagement of 654 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.28 people engaged with average males are 1.26 and females are 1.02. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.23, which means as many as 1.23 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
