Ganyapadhura Rural Municipality (Dadeldhura) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Ganyapadhura Rural Municipality (Dadeldhura district), candidate Naval Bahadur Malla of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,369 (57.50%) votes out of total votes of 5,859 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Birendra Bahadur Malla of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 1,946 (21.09%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 544 (4.64) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Kamala Devi Thagunna of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,407 (58.14%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Krishna Devi Paneru (ojha) of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 1,873 (20.21%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 580 (4.95) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 93 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 56 (60.22%) males and 37 (39.78%) females. Moreover, there were total 19 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 32 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 17 females and 16 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
