There were 36,604 votes casted during 1999 House of Representatives elections in Dolakha District, Constituency No. 2. The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) - Anand Prasad Pokhrel secured 15,845 (43.29%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Tara Bahadur Koirala of Nepali Congress Party who secured 11,752 (32.11%) votes and came in second position.
