Dhobini is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Parsa district, Province No. 2 of Nepal. Dhobini has total 5 wards, which are scattered across 24 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Dhobini Rural Municipality had total population of 19,911.

As of 2011, 139 population in Dhobini Rural Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 0.70 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 133, which equals to 1.30 percent of total 10,192 males. Same as, 6 females were absent, which equals to 0.06 percent of 9,719 females. At least one member of 98 (3.29 percent) households were absent.

In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (103), between 70 and 74 (186), between 60 and 64 (271),between 65 and 69 (278), and between 55 and 59 (306), with total population of 1,144. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 5 and 9 (1,416), below 4 (1,282), between 10 and 14 (1,248), between 20 and 24 (776), and between 25 and 29 (768), with total population of 5,490. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (78), between 70 and 74 (149), between 65 and 69 (243),between 55 and 59 (278), and between 60 and 64 (308), with total population of 1,056.

The population with age-group 15 to 19 had male to female ratio of 1.41, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 60 to 64 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.88. The age-groups 15 to 19, above 75, 70 to 74, 40 to 44, 65 to 69, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 35 to 39, 5 to 9, 25 to 29, below 4 had majority of male population while age-groups 10 to 14, 30 to 34, 20 to 24, 60 to 64 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups 45 to 49 had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 54.75 % (10,902 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 40.04 % with total number of 7,972. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 5.21 % with total number of 1,037. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 45.25 with total number of 9,009

There were 4,361 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 2,581. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 592 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 6,064 in Dhobini Rural Municipality with 2,907 (47.94%) of males and 3,157 (52.06%) females. There were total 12 schools. In average, 505 students were studying in each school.

There were as little as Limbu caste with population of as little as 12 in total. People of several other castes who live in Dhobini are Muslim, Kanu, Chamar/Harijan/Ram, Teli, Dusadh/Pasawan/Pasi, Dhobi, Yadav, Koiri/Kushwaha, Hajam/Thakur, Mallaha, Chhetri, Kathbaniyan, Lohar, Terai Others, Kalwar, Nuniya, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Brahmin - Hill, Bin, Kewat, Yakkha, Sonar, Kayastha, Kumal, Bangali, Brahmin - Tarai, Kumhar, Tatma/Tatwa, Kahar, Dhanuk, Magar, Limbu, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Dhobini Rural Municipality are Kurmi (6,697), Muslim (3,461), Kanu (1,822), Chamar/Harijan/Ram (1,211) and Teli (803) with total population of 13,994, which forms 70.28 percent out of total population of 19,911 in Dhobini Rural Municipality.

Out of total population of 19,911, there were total 286 (1.44%) disabled persons in Dhobini Rural Municipality with 161 (56.29%) males and 125 (43.71%) females. The physically disabled persons were 76, while mentally disabled people were 14 and intellectually disabled were 10.

Similarly, there were 116 people who were blind and 33 people were deaf, while 4 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 22 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 11 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 2975 households in Dhobini Rural Municipality, there were 118 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 612 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 35 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 2,168houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 138 houses were mud bonded, 658 houses were cement bonded, 73 houses were wood planks bonded, 2,039 houses were bamboo bonded and 5 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 1,130 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 13 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 1,291 houses had roof of tile, 475 houses had RCC roofs, 13 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 2,687 out of 2,975 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 178 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 84 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Dhobini Rural Municipality, there were total 57 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 2,750 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 9 houses had covered well while 7 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (1) and river stream (0), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 869 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 22 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 2 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (2,048), bio-gas (5), fuel electricity (0), etc.

Same as, total 1,656 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 1,288, while 4 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.56.

out of 2,975 households in Dhobini Rural Municipality, 476 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,438 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Bicycle was used by the maximum households with total users of 2,236, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 1,298.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 257 establishments in Dhobini Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 717 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 639 and female engagement of 78 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.79 people engaged with average males are 2.49 and females are 0.30. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 8.19, which means as many as 8.19 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
