Dhanauji is a Rural Municipality located in Dhanusa District of Nepal. It has total 5 wards and 22 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 census, it had total population of 21,395.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Dhanauji Rural Municipality had total 21,395 population with 10,894 males and 10,501 females. Out of total wards, ward number 5 had the largest population 5,068, while ward number 1 had least number of population with 5,068.
With respect to number of households, Dhanauji Rural Municipality had total 3,717 households. The ward number 5 had most households with total 883, while ward number 1 had least number of households with total 578 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 1.04, which indicates that Dhanauji Rural Municipality had -4 percent lower males as compared to the females. Same as, the population to household ratio was 5.76, which means that in average 5.76 family members lived in each household.

Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 10 and 14 (1,533), between 5 and 9 (1,431), between 15 and 19 (1,131), below 4 (1,081), and between 20 and 24 (830), with total population of 6,006. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (127), between 65 and 69 (214), between 70 and 74 (230),between 55 and 59 (318), and between 60 and 64 (414), with total population of 1,303. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 10 and 14 (1,409), between 5 and 9 (1,385), below 4 (1,011), between 15 and 19 (869), and between 20 and 24 (860), with total population of 5,534. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (114), between 70 and 74 (139), between 65 and 69 (194),between 60 and 64 (334), and between 50 and 54 (341), with total population of 1,122.
The population with age-group 70 to 74 had male to female ratio of 1.65, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 30 to 34 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.78. The age-groups 70 to 74, 50 to 54, 15 to 19, 60 to 64, 45 to 49, above 75, 65 to 69, 10 to 14, below 4, 5 to 9 had majority of male population while age-groups 40 to 44, 20 to 24, 55 to 59, 25 to 29, 35 to 39, 30 to 34 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

Population Ratios
There were 58.55 % (12,527 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 36.69 % with total number of 7,850. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 4.76 % with total number of 1,018. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 41.45 with total number of 8,868
There were 5,217 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 2,092. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 401 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Dhanauji is Maithili, which is spoken by 18,454 people. The Dhanauji has people who speak other languages, such as Magahi, Urdu, Nepali, Rai, Bangla, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Dhanauji Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Muslim caste with total population of 3,615. There were as little as Halkhor caste with population of as little as 13 in total. People of several other castes who live in Dhanauji are Kewat, Dhanuk, Teli, Chamar/Harijan/Ram, Yadav, Dusadh/Pasawan/Pasi, Sudhi, Baraee, Brahmin - Tarai, Bin, Tharu, Tatma/Tatwa, Khatwe, Kurmi, Kumhar, Nuniya, Musahar, Hajam/Thakur, Kumal, Sonar, Gaderi/Bhedhar, Haluwai, Rajput, Terai Others, Bangali, Kathbaniyan, Brahmin - Hill, Dhobi, Mallaha, Rai, Dhunia, Koiri/Kushwaha, Kalwar, Mali, Sarki, Undefined Others, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Natuwa, Halkhor, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.
Top five castes of people in Dhanauji Rural Municipality are Muslim (3,615), Kewat (2,695), Dhanuk (2,658), Teli (1,252) and Chamar/Harijan/Ram (1,012) with total population of 11,232, which forms 52.50 percent out of total population of 21,395 in Dhanauji Rural Municipality.Population by Disability
Similarly, there were 34 people who were blind and 13 people were deaf, while 6 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 25 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 10 people had multiple disabilities.

Household Foundation
With respect to wall of the houses, 208 houses were mud bonded, 978 houses were cement bonded, 49 houses were wood planks bonded, 2,329 houses were bamboo bonded and 25 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 863 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 49 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 1,933 houses had roof of tile, 706 houses had RCC roofs, 41 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.
With respect to the toilets, 2,916 out of 3,717 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 351 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 343 houses reported having ordinary toilets.
Utilities
With reference to source of fuel, 1,142 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 33 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 31 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (2,396), bio-gas (4), fuel electricity (2), etc.
Same as, total 3,142 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 417, while 13 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.85.
Facilities
Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 623 establishments in Dhanauji Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,438 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,024 and female engagement of 414 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.31 people engaged with average males are 1.64 and females are 0.66. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 2.47, which means as many as 2.47 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 71.21 percent while the females are 28.79 percent.
