Dewahi Gonahi is a Municipality, which is located in Rautahat district, Province No. 2 of Nepal. Dewahi Gonahi has total 9 wards, which are scattered across 34 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Dewahi Gonahi Municipality had total population of 32,143.

As of 2011, 502 population in Dewahi Gonahi Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 1.56 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 501, which equals to 3.05 percent of total 16,451 males. Same as, 1 females were absent, which equals to 0.01 percent of 15,692 females. At least one member of 428 (9.12 percent) households were absent.

In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (169), between 70 and 74 (294), between 55 and 59 (400),between 65 and 69 (431), and between 60 and 64 (465), with total population of 1,759. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 5 and 9 (2,508), between 10 and 14 (2,144), below 4 (2,034), between 15 and 19 (1,229), and between 20 and 24 (1,192), with total population of 9,107. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (191), between 70 and 74 (217), between 65 and 69 (361),between 50 and 54 (405), and between 55 and 59 (462), with total population of 1,636.

The population with age-group 70 to 74 had male to female ratio of 1.35, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 55 to 59 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.87. The age-groups 70 to 74, 45 to 49, 15 to 19, 50 to 54, 65 to 69, 40 to 44, 25 to 29, 35 to 39, 10 to 14 had majority of male population while age-groups below 4, 30 to 34, 20 to 24, above 75, 55 to 59 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups 5 to 9, 60 to 64 had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 52.98 % (17,030 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 41.84 % with total number of 13,450. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 5.17 % with total number of 1,663. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 47.02 with total number of 15,113

The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 577 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 11,119 in Dewahi Gonahi Municipality with 5,591 (50.28%) of males and 5,528 (49.72%) females. There were total 21 schools. In average, 529 students were studying in each school.

Top five castes of people in Dewahi Gonahi Municipality are Muslim (7,115), Kurmi (4,866), Yadav (4,176), Kanu (2,695) and Koiri/Kushwaha (1,678) with total population of 20,530, which forms 63.87 percent out of total population of 32,143 in Dewahi Gonahi Municipality.

Out of total population of 32,143, there were total 384 (1.19%) disabled persons in Dewahi Gonahi Municipality with 227 (59.11%) males and 157 (40.89%) females. The physically disabled persons were 156, while mentally disabled people were 27 and intellectually disabled were 9.

Similarly, there were 80 people who were blind and 25 people were deaf, while 10 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 45 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 32 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 4691 households in Dewahi Gonahi Municipality, there were 527 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 569 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 134 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 3,218houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 350 houses were mud bonded, 640 houses were cement bonded, 57 houses were wood planks bonded, 3,412 houses were bamboo bonded and 32 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 909 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 29 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 3,244 houses had roof of tile, 268 houses had RCC roofs, 36 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 3,992 out of 4,691 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 240 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 395 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Dewahi Gonahi Municipality, there were total 75 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 4,367 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 19 houses had covered well while 42 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (6) and river stream (0), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 1,209 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 70 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 12 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (3,305), bio-gas (14), fuel electricity (1), etc.

Same as, total 1,450 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 3,155, while 13 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.31.

out of 4,691 households in Dewahi Gonahi Municipality, 1,254 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 3,346 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Bicycle was used by the maximum households with total users of 2,961, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 2,016.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 271 establishments in Dewahi Gonahi Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 559 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 433 and female engagement of 126 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.06 people engaged with average males are 1.60 and females are 0.46. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 3.44, which means as many as 3.44 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
