Darchula – 1 | 2008 Constituent Assembly Election Results

There were 50,816 votes casted during 2008 Constituent Assembly elections in Darchula District, Constituency No. 1. The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) - Laxman Dutta Joshi secured 25,404 (49.99%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Ganesh Singh Thagunna of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) who secured 12,813 (25.21%) votes and came in second position. The difference in votes of Laxman Dutta Joshi and Ganesh Singh Thagunna was 12,591. All other candidates secured 12,599 (24.79%) votes.
