There were 38,393 votes casted during 1999 House of Representatives elections in Dang District, Constituency No. 4. The candidte of Nepali Congress Party - Gehendra Giri secured 16,061 (41.83%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Shrimani Sharma Acharya of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) who secured 8,274 (21.55%) votes and came in second position.
