Chumanuwri Rural Municipality (Gorkha) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Chumanuwri Rural Municipality (Gorkha district), candidate Dhan Bahadur Gurung of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 1,253 (49.08%) votes out of total votes of 2,553 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Lakpa Dhundup Lama of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) who secured 1,185 (31.14%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 115 (2.25) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Kumari Gurung of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,283 (50.35%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Chewang Lama of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 988 (25.79%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 277 (5.44) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 64 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 45 (70.31%) males and 19 (29.69%) females. Moreover, there were total 14 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 27 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 13 females and 2 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
