There were 45,379 votes casted during 1999 House of Representatives elections in Chitwan District, Constituency No. 3. The candidte of Nepali Congress Party - Dr. Gangadhar Lamsal secured 23,265 (51.27%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Nar Bahadur Khad of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) who secured 14,499 (31.95%) votes and came in second position.
