In 2017 election of Chichila Rural Municipality (Sankhuwasabha district), candidate Pasang Nurbu Sherpa of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 1,462 (49.14%) votes out of total votes of 2,975 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Santosh Gurung of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 770 (17.35%) of votes. The rest of 5 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 743 (12.49) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Yadu Kumari Rai of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 1,371 (46.71%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Bishnu Maya Rai (yamphu) of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 949 (22.04%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 615 (10.48) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 99 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 58 (58.59%) males and 41 (41.41%) females. Moreover, there were total 20 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 35 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 17 females and 15 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
