Chhedagad is a Municipality, which is located in Jajarkot district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Chhedagad has total 13 wards, which are scattered across 284 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Chhedagad Municipality had total population of 35,295.

As of 2011, 782 population in Chhedagad Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 2.22 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 706, which equals to 4.07 percent of total 17,354 males. Same as, 76 females were absent, which equals to 0.42 percent of 17,941 females. At least one member of 609 (9.91 percent) households were absent.

In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (125), between 70 and 74 (148), between 65 and 69 (272),between 60 and 64 (374), and between 55 and 59 (492), with total population of 1,411. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 5 and 9 (2,993), below 4 (2,765), between 10 and 14 (2,604), between 15 and 19 (1,912), and between 20 and 24 (1,525), with total population of 11,799. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (107), between 70 and 74 (123), between 65 and 69 (227),between 55 and 59 (365), and between 60 and 64 (430), with total population of 1,252.

The population with age-group 55 to 59 had male to female ratio of 1.35, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 25 to 29 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.81. The age-groups 55 to 59, 50 to 54, 65 to 69, 70 to 74, above 75, 45 to 49, 40 to 44 had majority of male population while age-groups 10 to 14, below 4, 5 to 9, 15 to 19, 35 to 39, 30 to 34, 60 to 64, 20 to 24, 25 to 29 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 2.84 % with total number of 1,002. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 691 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 12,073 in Chhedagad Municipality with 5,909 (48.94%) of males and 6,164 (51.06%) females. There were total 106 schools. In average, 114 students were studying in each school.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Chhedagad Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Chhetri caste with total population of 16,176. There were as little as Others caste with population of as little as 35 in total. People of several other castes who live in Chhedagad are Kami, Brahmin - Hill, Thakuri, Magar, Damai/Dholi, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Sarki, Badi, Lohar, Gaine, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Chhedagad Municipality are Chhetri (16,176), Kami (7,584), Brahmin - Hill (2,441), Thakuri (2,272) and Magar (2,100) with total population of 30,573, which forms 86.62 percent out of total population of 35,295 in Chhedagad Municipality.

Out of total population of 35,295, there were total 1,689 (4.79%) disabled persons in Chhedagad Municipality with 908 (53.76%) males and 781 (46.24%) females. The physically disabled persons were 877, while mentally disabled people were 38 and intellectually disabled were 23.

Similarly, there were 299 people who were blind and 272 people were deaf, while 14 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 101 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 65 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 6144 households in Chhedagad Municipality, there were 6,079 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 13 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 1 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 22houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 6,009 houses were mud bonded, 68 houses were cement bonded, 25 houses were wood planks bonded, 7 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 331 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 30 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 5,582 houses had roof of tile, 3 houses had RCC roofs, 12 houses had roof of woods while 140 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 2,654 out of 6,144 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 1,267 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 2,200 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Chhedagad Municipality, there were total 3,507 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 5 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 42 houses had covered well while 274 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (2087) and river stream (205), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 6,101 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 4 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 2 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (4), bio-gas (8), fuel electricity (0), etc.

Same as, total 7 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 55, while 3,653 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.00.

out of 6,144 households in Chhedagad Municipality, 2,947 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 3,105 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Radio was used by the maximum households with total users of 2,570, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 1,484.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 623 establishments in Chhedagad Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,760 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,077 and female engagement of 683 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.83 people engaged with average males are 1.73 and females are 1.10. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.58, which means as many as 1.58 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
