In 2017 election of Chhabispathivera Rural Municipality (Bajhang district), candidate Akkal Bahadur Dhami of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,289 (42.32%) votes out of total votes of 5,409 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Lokendra Singh Dhami of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) who secured 1,733 (22.51%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1,387 (12.82) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Radhika Kumari Ratala (regmi) of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,223 (42.84%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Maheshwori Ojha of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,685 (22.73%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,281 (12.34) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 107 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 64 (59.81%) males and 43 (40.19%) females. Moreover, there were total 21 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 42 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 21 females and 16 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
