Changunarayan Municipality (Bhaktapur) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Changunarayan Municipality (Bhaktapur district), candidate Som Prasad Mishra of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 8,512 (32.67%) votes out of total votes of 26,057 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Raja Ram Khadka of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 6,869 (19.87%) of votes. The rest of 11 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 10,676 (20.49) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Bina Bastola of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 8,779 (33.87%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Radha Karki (baniya) of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 7,476 (21.55%) of votes and came in second position. Other 8 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 9,663 (18.64) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 274 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 176 (64.23%) males and 98 (35.77%) females. Moreover, there were total 60 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 9 wards. Same as, total 103 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 52 females and 36 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
