Bulingtar is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Nawalparasi_E district, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Bulingtar has total 6 wards, which are scattered across 148 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Bulingtar Rural Municipality had total population of 19,122.

As of 2011, 2,197 population in Bulingtar Rural Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 11.49 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 2,072, which equals to 23.92 percent of total 8,663 males. Same as, 125 females were absent, which equals to 1.20 percent of 10,459 females. At least one member of 1,556 (44.62 percent) households were absent.

In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (148), above 75 (176), between 65 and 69 (237),between 60 and 64 (269), and between 55 and 59 (344), with total population of 1,174. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 10 and 14 (1,468), between 5 and 9 (1,291), between 15 and 19 (1,279), below 4 (1,006), and between 20 and 24 (902), with total population of 5,946. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (131), above 75 (165), between 65 and 69 (193),between 60 and 64 (286), and between 55 and 59 (324), with total population of 1,099.

The population with age-group 65 to 69 had male to female ratio of 1.23, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 25 to 29 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.45. The age-groups 65 to 69, 70 to 74, 45 to 49, above 75, 55 to 59, 50 to 54 had majority of male population while age-groups below 4, 10 to 14, 5 to 9, 60 to 64, 15 to 19, 40 to 44, 35 to 39, 30 to 34, 20 to 24, 25 to 29 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 55.64 % (10,639 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 38.87 % with total number of 7,433. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 5.49 % with total number of 1,050. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 44.36 with total number of 8,483

There were 5,234 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 1,990. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 380 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 19,954 in Bulingtar Rural Municipality with 9,984 (50.04%) of males and 9,970 (49.96%) females. There were total 45 schools. In average, 443 students were studying in each school.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Bulingtar Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Magar caste with total population of 12,396. There were as little as Tamang caste with population of as little as 11 in total. People of several other castes who live in Bulingtar are Kumal, Dalit Others, Sarki, Kami, Brahmin - Hill, Chhetri, Damai/Dholi, Newar, Thakuri, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Darai, Gurung, Bote, Gharti/Bhujel, Muslim, Tamang, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Bulingtar Rural Municipality are Magar (12,396), Kumal (1,459), Dalit Others (1,396), Sarki (592) and Kami (554) with total population of 16,397, which forms 85.75 percent out of total population of 19,122 in Bulingtar Rural Municipality.

Out of total population of 19,122, there were total 604 (3.16%) disabled persons in Bulingtar Rural Municipality with 317 (52.48%) males and 287 (47.52%) females. The physically disabled persons were 140, while mentally disabled people were 25 and intellectually disabled were 21.

Similarly, there were 75 people who were blind and 163 people were deaf, while 13 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 107 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 60 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 3487 households in Bulingtar Rural Municipality, there were 2,908 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 20 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 6 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 543houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 2,936 houses were mud bonded, 56 houses were cement bonded, 42 houses were wood planks bonded, 440 houses were bamboo bonded and 3 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 1,208 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 1,827 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 395 houses had roof of tile, 31 houses had RCC roofs, 2 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 1,760 out of 3,487 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 1,297 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 422 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Bulingtar Rural Municipality, there were total 2,943 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 0 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 69 houses had covered well while 226 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (217) and river stream (21), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 3,363 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 0 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 48 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (1), bio-gas (66), fuel electricity (0), etc.

Same as, total 1,233 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 40, while 1,111 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.35.

out of 3,487 households in Bulingtar Rural Municipality, 659 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,669 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Radio was used by the maximum households with total users of 2,093, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 1,942.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 523 establishments in Bulingtar Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,135 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 579 and female engagement of 556 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.17 people engaged with average males are 1.11 and females are 1.06. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.04, which means as many as 1.04 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
